Rail2Road Model Train Layout Progress October 2019

This layout belongs to a friend, we are busy doing a rebuild/repair and then adding detail. Most of the rebuilding and repair work to the actual landscape (Baring one large, new area which we will do last) is complete and now we are busy doing the fine detail to the landscaping,

Once all the detail has been finished more figures and figure scenes will be added for the final finish. I have been enjoying helping Chris on his layout. Who needs a shrink? This is the best de-stress one can get.

The car wash.

 This scene will eventually have a children's play ground with kids playing..

 Grass added, I have used four different types and shade here.

Trees and bushes to finish it. Swings and figure will be added later.

The starting point.

 This area was very drab and lifeless, so we added detail just to break the grey and brown 

 Wood glue and beach sand

 Brown undercoat

First layer of rough grass, dyed sawdust and wood shavings.

Then the scatter grass three different shades followed by bushes and trees.

Another very small are, just a little bit of green makes such a difference.

Just a little bit of detail changes the whole appearance. This piece still has to have some tweaking to finish it off but so far the result is good.
